FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 22, 2002
Steven Friedman, a partner with KZF Development in Northbrook, will be the guest this month on the cable access show Financial Solutions that airs in numerous northern Cook County and southern Lake County communities in Illinois. The topic of this month’s program is Issues in Home Building.
Steven Friedman has been a real estate developer for the past 15 years and is a member of both the National Association of Home Builders and the National Association of Realtors. He and his wife, Suzy, who is also his business partner, reside in Northbrook with their four-year-old son, Oliver.
Friedman was raised in Northbrook and received a BS from the University of Southern California. He also received an MBA in finance from DePaul University. In 1997, he joined KZF Development. The firm specializes in single and multifamily homes and recent developments include Royal Ridge, a 151 unit duplex and single family gated community in Techny, Northbrook Greens, a 160 unit condominium and townhouse development, and Oliver Lane, a 10 unit custom home subdivision.
Many suburban communities are undergoing change. With little or no available land in fully developed communities for new residential construction, more and more homes built after World War II are being torn down and replaced by far larger homes. From Hinsdale to Lake Forest, Winnetka to Oak Brook and many communities in-between, teardowns are a fact of life as the spread is beginning to reach the collar counties.
Friedman will address how these issues affect communities and the families that are looking for new housing construction. During the program he will answer a variety of questions regarding recent trends in development including: Why are people paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a home, only to knock it down? What are communities doing to regulate the process? And, what are some of the more common obstacles that buyers experience in building a new home?
The show will air on Comcast cable once a week at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday’s for the entire month of September. The program reaches 105,000 subscribers on channel 35 in Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Des Plaines, Glenview, Golf, Hanover Park, Mt. Prospect, Northbrook, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Schaumburg, Skokie, Streamwood and Wheeling. The show will also be broadcast on Channel 19 at the same time to 120,000 subscribers in Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles, Northfield, Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Wilmette.
Financial Solutions is produced and hosted by Patrick Doland, CFP™, a fee only financial planner and investment manager in Northbrook and is intended to help viewers address their questions on investments, retirement planning, education planning, insurance, and estate planning.
