Northbrook Planner Attends NAPFA Conference in Minneapolis

Patrick Doland recently returned from the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors National Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota held May 4 – 7. The conference entitled, Adapting to Change, featured the keynote presentation by Kathy Cleveland Bull who led the attendees on a training session based on Dr. Spencer Johnson’s best seller, Who Moved My Cheese? Cleveland Bull worked with Dr. Johnson to develop the training materials that support the learning in the book.

During the conference other speakers addressed issues including charitable giving, fixed income investing, long term care insurance, reverse mortgages, and section 529 plans.

Doland, a Northbrook resident, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Upper Iowa University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.  He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ Practitioner and a Certified Cash Manager. Doland provides fee only services in areas including investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, risk management, income tax planning and education planning.

NAPFA, founded in 1983, is the largest professional organization representing comprehensive fee only financial advisors. NAFPA members are prohibited from receiving compensation other than client fees and are, therefore, not compensated by the sale of products they recommend.
